Been reading up on Aspergers/Autism and Psychosis. Apparently, people with Aspergers/Autism are 3 times more likely to suffer from some form of Psychosis than the general population (though the overall number is still very low). What are peoples thoughts? I myself have suffered/still suffer with a degree of Psychosis. So is it part of my Aspergers, or is it another condition entirely? Also, what is everyone else's experience?

Lorraine Gonzales My son is now 10years old. He was just diagnosed with High functioning Autism but before this he was diagnosed with Schizophreniform. He was hearing and seeing things so much that i had to be with him at all times even when he went bathroom. I ended up changing his therpist and they said he had really bad anxiety that made him hear and see things but that they are keeping an eye out for psychosis. 4

Hope Webb I have 2 sons with autism, both were diagnosed Aspergers at the time they were first diagnosed. My oldest Jason, who is now 30 also is diagnosed with a schizophrenic personality disorder. He believes he talks to angels and demons or aliens. Currently he is in a mental health facility because about a year ago he told his doctor that he was going to kill himself because the voices were telling him to murder people. My younger autistic son Caleb is 20, he is also diagnosed with bi-polar disorder. Has a very vivid imagination and I worry he could develop similar to his older brother. I don't know the answers to the question, hopefully there will be a breakthrough that can answer the question. 7
